Video Camera:
One of our most used piece of technology was our HD video camera, this allowed us to film the large amounts of footage for our trailer. The camera also allowed us to film a variety of different camera shots, angles and movements. We accessed the camera through someone in our filming group, meaning we could use it for the lengthy period of time that was needed to capture all of our planned shots. Using a the High Definition camera meant that we could shoot clear and precise footage, so that editing time was decreased. The camera was small and had its own bag, so we were able to carry the camera around easily to the different locations were we planning to film at.
We used a variety of hand held shots and shots using a tripod. We used a lot of hand held shots to create chaos and panic, fitting the thriller genre, and to symbolise as though a student was filming the panic that the students were feeling knowing there was someone in the school with a gun.
I Phone 8 (portrait mode):
Instead of using a digital camera to capture photographs for both our film posters and magazine covers we used the new camera feature on the I Phone 8. The portrait mode on the phone captures a clear and crisps photo of an individual, in this case our main character joe. Everyone in the group has this phone so therefore we could all have our own different pictures and could access our phones at anytime to take pictures.
We used the software blogger to record all of our research, planning and evaluations of our media project. This was an easy and useful way of recording our progress whilst making our film trailer.
Social Networking:
As I mentioned in my previous evaluation, we used several different media platforms to help advertise our film and get feedback from an audience. We also set up a group Facebook and Snapchat group chat as we found this really useful for communicating in on when and where we should film as we wanted to film as a group. We also found the social media group chats useful for pictures that we had taken it was much easier to upload them into social media than via email.
Premier Pro:
We used the software Premier Pro to edit our film trailer, the software is very advanced and allows you to create a very high quality trailer. During the use of premier pro we speed up and slowed down the way the trailer would be shown to the audience, we added in several different sound effects which enhanced the quality of our trailer. We also added our own music, titles and a voice over recording of a new report.
YouTube:
We used YouTube as a good platform to upload our drafts and any planning ideas that we decided to record rather than just write up. We found YouTube very easy to use and very helpful when exporting importing onto out blogs.
